The Africa Blockchain Summit (ABS) is a Central Bank Governors’ Forum meant to understand the impact of Distributed Ledger Technology on African and, more broadly, Emerging countries’ financial sector.
This initiative is designed to contribute to the reflections and current global thinking on Blockchain, and to propose a regional grid of analysis and understanding of this technology. The summit’s goals are to raise the awareness of Blockchain’s risks and opportunities for operational implementation.
This initiative is based on a multidimensional approach, which will enable to identify challenges, and potential applications of Blockchain in the African and MENA regions’ financial sector. Three coordinated events are planned:
- A Central Bank Governors’ Conference
- Thematic Workshops for Operational Implementation of the Blockchain
- A Hackathon on a financial practical application of Blockchain
